Three people have been charged after a police pursuit through Perth’s southern suburbs ended in a crash in South Perth, with officers allegedly discovering methylamphetamine during a search of the vehicle.

The incident began when Western Australia Police attempted to stop a vehicle. Police allege the driver failed to stop, triggering a pursuit through several suburbs before the vehicle crashed in South Perth.

Crash Ends Pursuit

After the vehicle came to a stop, officers arrested three occupants at the scene.

Police searched the vehicle and allegedly located a quantity of methylamphetamine, leading to additional drug-related charges. Authorities have not disclosed the exact amount of the drug allegedly seized.

Three People Face Multiple Charges

All three accused have been charged with a range of offences relating to the alleged pursuit, the crash and the suspected drugs.

The charges are understood to include offences connected to:

  • Failing to stop for police
  • Dangerous or reckless driving
  • Possessing a prohibited drug, namely methylamphetamine
  • Other traffic and criminal offences arising from the incident.

Court Proceedings

The three accused are expected to appear before a Western Australian court at a later date.

Western Australia Police said investigations into the incident remain ongoing.

As with all criminal matters, the charges are allegations, and each accused is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
