TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas — Authorities have arrested one of two suspects wanted in connection with a deadly double shooting outside a northeast Travis County nightclub that left two young Austin residents dead.

Twenty-year-old Kevin Parrish was taken into custody Saturday and booked into the Travis County Jail at 2:19 p.m. on a charge of Capital Murder of Multiple Persons, according to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

The second suspect, 19-year-old James Shearrion, remains at large and is actively being sought by investigators.

Deputies responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire just before 4 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, outside Bare Cabaret, located at 9705 Reservoir Court in northeast Travis County. Investigators said an altercation in the nightclub’s parking lot escalated into a shooting in which multiple rounds were fired.

The victims were identified as 19-year-old Layla Williamson and 23-year-old VT Wood-Davion Olden Hornsby, both of Austin. Hornsby died at the scene, while Williamson was transported to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities said nearly 400 people were inside the club or gathered outside when the shooting occurred, forcing deputies to secure the area for several hours while interviewing witnesses and identifying everyone present. Detectives also reviewed surveillance footage and collected evidence as part of the investigation.

Investigators believe the people involved knew each other, describing the shooting as the result of a dispute rather than a random act of violence. The sheriff’s office has said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

In a related development, authorities have also issued an arrest warrant for 38-year-old Precious Josslyn Shearrion, the mother of James Shearrion. She faces charges of Hindering Apprehension and Tampering with Evidence in connection with the investigation.

The search for James Shearrion continues, and investigators are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Travis County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers.
