Elderly Woman Has Narrow Escape As Car Rams Into Her Home In Australia

Perth: An elderly woman in Australia had a miraculous escape after an out-of-control car ploughed straight into her house, leaving both the vehicle and the residence badly damaged.

The incident took place in High Wycombe, a suburb of Perth in Western Australia, on Wednesday night, according to local police.

Officials said the driver, a 22-year-old woman, lost control of her Holden Commodore at around 9 pm near the corner of Feeney Gardens and Whimbrel Green. The car first ploughed through a fence before slamming into the house.

A woman in her 70s, who was at home at the time, escaped unhurt despite the car crashing into her property. The young driver, however, was injured and rushed to hospital for treatment.

Police said both the car and the house suffered significant damage in the crash.

The 22-year-old has since been charged with dangerous driving, as well as failing to provide her details after a crash that caused damage. She is expected to appear in court at a later date.

(More details are awaited. This is a developing story.)
