Australian Law Student Fletcher Beasley Dies After Fall in Central London, Coroner Opens Investigation

London, United Kingdom: A London coroner has opened an investigation into the death of Fletcher Beasley, a 21-year-old Australian law student from Brisbane, who died after falling from Victoria Embankment in central London.

Emergency services were called to the riverside walkway at approximately 2:00 a.m. on June 25, after reports that a man had fallen from a height.

According to the Metropolitan Police, officers responded alongside the London Ambulance Service, but despite the efforts of paramedics, the young man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the deceased was a man in his twenties. His identity was later confirmed as Fletcher Beasley, a Brisbane native who had been studying law.

Victoria Embankment is a well-known stretch along the northern bank of the River Thames, extending through central London and passing several of the city’s most recognisable landmarks. Authorities have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding the fall, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Family Seeks Answers to Sudeent Demise

Beasley’s devastated family has launched the Fletcher Beasley Fund, which had raised more than AUD $108,000 by Friday to assist with expenses related to the investigation and to bring him home to Australia.

Friends of the Beasley and McMullen families said the fundraiser would also provide support to others facing similar tragedies.

Friends and loved ones have remembered Fletcher as a bright, compassionate, and much-loved young man whose sudden death has left family and the wider community in shock.

Authorities have not indicated that the death is being treated as suspicious, and no further details about the circumstances of the incident have been released.
