A 25-year-old man was killed and another person was injured in an early morning shooting on Columbus’ North Side on Saturday, July 5.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, officers responded to reports of a shooting at around 4:06 a.m. at a residence in the 200 block of East Hudson Street. Upon arrival, officers found Tonzaih Johnson, 25, unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at approximately 4:14 a.m.
A second individual who was also inside the residence suffered injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Police said the victim is in stable condition.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute between roommates, though authorities have not released further details about what led to the incident.
No information regarding arrests or potential charges has been announced. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
